Practice Monday 6pm - 6:30pm in The Cedar Centre, Castor (term time only)
St Kyneburgha's bell tower is led by William Baxter. There are eight bells in the tower, six Henry Bagley Bells (1552) and two cast by Taylor's (1999).
At Castor it was customary to ring
"At the Death-knell twice three tolls are given before, and three tolls after the knell for a man; twice two tolls before and two after for a woman, in both cases on the tenor bell. The same mode is followed in the case of children, but the 4th bell is then used."
Visitors are welcome to come and join in at the practice session held on Monday Nights 7.30pm.
Contact William Baxter for further information tel: 01733 380769A small band of local ladies form the Hand belles troupe. The 12 handbelles were 'found' in the tower and after restoration are now rung regularly.

In 2004 and 2005 they successfully rang at the Oundle Music Festival. Each year they ring in the churches.
A special charity christmas concert is held each year at the beginning of December.
