Families, Children & Youth

Families and Children are welcome at all our services and children play an important part in all our main Sunday services. Many services in the parishes are specifically designed for families and children:

Children’s Church at St Kyneburgha, Castor: Do your children find it difficult to sit through a whole church service – and understand it?

Would you like to worship with your children, but would also like to take communion in church?
Do your children enjoy learning through practical activities while having fun?

If you’ve answered ‘yes’ to any of these questions, please read on…

First Sunday of the Month 10.15am at St Kyneburgha, Castor
Family Communion, where the main parts of the service are led by families and children.

Second Friday in the Month 11.am at St Kyneburgha, Castor
Pre-school service. A short service followed by refreshments and games for pre-school children (parents also welcome to attend).

Second Sunday in the Month 9.15am Sutton Church
A short family service (25 minutes) followed by refreshments.
10.15am St Kynebugha, Castor Sunday Club meets in the Cedar Centre next to Castor Church. The session includes games, songs, stories, activities and refreshments.

Third Sunday of the Month 10.15am start at St Kyneburgha, Castor, service in The Cedar Centre (term time only)
A more active and modern family service with local musicians and time for reflection.
NOTE: At the end of the service in The Cedar Centre you are invited to return to the main service in St Kyneburgha for communion.

Fourth Sunday of the Month 10.15am start at St Kyneburgha, Castor (term time only)
Sunday Club meets in the Cedar Centre next to Castor Church. The session includes games, songs, stories, activities and refreshments.

Marholm: We are exploring what provision we should make for the children of Marholm. Everyone’s views are always welcome.

CYVC - Castor Village Youth Club

The CYVC is a Youth Club run in Castor village at the Cedar Centre for young people in school years 7-9. Although this group-is funded by St. Kyneburgha's PCC, it is a non-religious based group.

The group runs on Sunday evenings in term time between 5.30pm and 7.00pm. Entry is free, there is a tuck shop, so bring some money anyway!

We have a snooker table, table tennis table, a Wii and a place to sit, chat and chill.

We would love to see anyone of the school years 7-9 there - you'll be very welcome, bring a friend too.

Are you school year 9-11?

"The Zone" is a youth group run by St Kyneburgha's Church. Any teenagers of 14-16 years old from any of our villages and beyond, are welcome to come along. We meet every Sunday during term time at The Cedar Centre, Castor (next to the Church) from 7.30-9pm ish.

It's led by Sam, our 20 year old youth worker. We get together for an 1 1/2 hours and sometimes talk a bit about stuff that matters like "Is Abortion right?" "Is war ever right?" and "Crime and Punishment - do we live in a just society?" Mostly we have fun, play silly games and eat a lot!!! Anyway, if you'd like to come along, just turn up. You'll be very welcome, bring a friend too. If you want to find out more before you come, just give Jo or Sam a call.

First Communion Preparation Workshop

Each year in the first part of the Autumn Term a workshop is held to prepare children to receive their First Communion during our service on Sunday 1st November at the church of St. Kyneburgha of Castor.

The preparation workshop will take place on Saturday 10th October from 9am til 12noon in the Cedar Centre.
